The Gemini High-Resolution Optical SpecTrograph (GHOST) instrument now in the final stages of commissioning has been developed for the Gemini telescope, in a collaboration between the AAO, the Herzberg Institute for Astrophysics in Canada, and the Australian National University.
GHOST uses a high resolution asymmetric white-pupil Echelle spectrograph fed by two moveable optical-fibre image-slicing integral-field-units located at the Gemini Cassegrain focus. The instrument provides a simultaneous wavelength coverage from 363 to 900 nm at a resolution of R=50k-75k.
